Lesson Policy

Welcome to Noel's Driving School. To ensure your learning experience is as smooth and reassuring as possible, please take a moment to review our lesson framework. My aim is to provide a calm, supportive environment where you can build confidence on the roads at your own pace.

  • Booking Your Lessons: Lessons can be arranged directly with myself in person or via email or whatsapp.
  • Session Duration: Standard lessons are typically 120 minutes to allow for meaningful progress and practice on varied routes. The 90 minute trial lesson being the main exception to this.
  • Pick-up & Drop-off: I will meet you at a pre-agreed location and the lesson can end at an agreed location of your choosing with prior notice to allow for lesson planning and travel time. Please ensure you are ready at the scheduled time.
Driver Responsibilities
  • Driving License: You must hold a valid UK provisional (or full) driving license. This must be presented for authentication at your first lesson and you must provide details for DVSA checks to be completed prior to first lesson.
  • Eyesight Requirements: You must be able to read a standard UK number plate from a distance of 20 metres (with glasses or contact lenses if required). This will be tested prior to your first lesson starting.
  • Fitness to Drive: It is your responsibility to ensure you are fit to drive, free from the influence of any substances or health conditions that may impair your ability. In the event a lesson cannot proceed due to any impairment or concerns about impairment then this will be treated as a no show/cancellation.

Payment Policy

Methods & Timing

I aim to make the financial side of your learning as stress-free as possible. Payments for individual lessons can be made via secure bank transfer or cash at the start of the session. For your peace of mind block bookings of 10 or more lessons must be paid in advance of the first lesson, excluding 90 minute trial or previous sessions. 

Block Bookings & Refunds

Block booking discounts are available as a commitment to your progress. Please note that all block-purchased hours are valid for 6 months from the date of payment. Should you decide to discontinue lessons, any remaining hours will be refunded at the standard hourly rate, minus the discount already applied to used lessons. This ensures a fair and clear process for everyone.

Test Day Rules

Use of the tuition vehicle for your practical driving test is at my discretion it is also subject to availability and depends on you reaching a safe, independent standard of driving. On the day, please ensure you bring your provisional driving licence and your theory test certificate; without these, the DVSA examiner cannot proceed. We will usually meet for a warm-up 1 hour before your scheduled time to help calm your nerves and ensure you are ready to perform your best. I cannot accept any responsibility for your test not being able to go ahead due to mechanical breakdown or any circumstances beyond my control. I always build an excellent relationship with my students and tests are well planned in advance making issues on the day extremely rare.
